Soft Drinks

New Zealand is in the midst of a debate about removing GST on fresh fruit and veges. Recently I read a Letter to the Editor in a local newspaper that claimed removing GST on Coke and other soft drinks would be much better for lower income families because they were the number one most popular item purchased.
You have to be kidding me. Coke and all the other soft drinks should be banned. They should not be consumed, and the manufacturers should be forced to contribute to the medical system, which is where so many of their customers end up.
And don't think the Diet drinks
are any better. In fact they are far worse. Aspartame is the prime culprit, and will damage your health far faster that sugar. Please, if you insist on drinking soft drinks, please get your own private health insurance. You will need it sometime in the future.
